Exploring automated object detection methods for manholes using classical computer vision and deep learning

چکیده
Open, broken, and improperly closed manholes can pose problems for autonomous vehicles thus need to be included in obstacle avoidance lane-changing algorithms. In this work, we propose compare multiple approaches manhole localization classification like classical computer vision, convolutional neural networks YOLOv3 YOLOv3-Tiny, vision transformers YOLOS ViT. These are analyzed speed, computational complexity, accuracy order determine the model that used with vehicles. addition, a size detection pipeline using of hole an respect itself. The evaluation data showed currently better task, but seem promising.
